Not only is it important to choose a good University, but it is just as important to choose the right University for you and the course you wish to study. Every course and every university is different and therefore it takes time to find the right one.
Different courses at different universities have different syllabi. Some courses offer work placements or focus on different areas of the syllabus. Students have to prioritise what they would like from a university, including even the area in which the university is in might be a factor. Spending 3 or 4 years or even more in a particular place could be a main factor for the student. Even the application process in the UK is different to university systems in other countries. This all requires research. The more research that students put into making sure they choose the right university and course, the more likely they are going to get the most out of a successful university experience. Our World University Preparation (UK) programme will help guide students on how to apply to UK universities and the application system.
As previously mentioned, choosing the right course is just as important. One of the top reasons students drop out of university is due to choosing the wrong subject for them. Students unsure as to which subject they would like to study at university can attend our Oxford and Cambridge Advanced Studies Programs (Ages 16 – 19) where they have the unique opportunity to try a subject they might not have had the opportunity to study before at school, such as Engineering, Film Studies or even Creative Writing. They can even take advantage of living and studying at Oxford or Cambridge University!
For our younger learners starting to plan for university, we have our London Advanced Studies Program (Ages 14 – 16) where students can enjoy living like a true Londoner!
