Relaying on the famous Oxford and Cambridge boat race taking place this Easter weekend, Spitalfields City Farm has been hosting goat races since 2014. An Oxford goat, a Cambridge goat and an ‘&’ goat makes up the goat trio. The race in the East London farm has become more popular each year with spectators listening in on goat concerts, taking place in vegetable competitions, racing on pogo sticks and watching the nerve-racking goat races. The goats are health checked before the event and wear coats with the Oxford and Cambridge colours on. They are free to go at any speed they wish, but are encouraged with a bucket full of food. The event is aimed to fundraise food supply for a whole year for the goat farms. This year the goat races take place on Easter Sunday 27th March at 12:00 pm. A video of the event is available using the following link: http://www.thegoatrace.org/.
Good luck to the goats this weekend!
